URBAN WHITE

Interior design project of a flat in Girona. Located in one of the narrowest streets in the city, a completely open plan layout is created which seeks out light from any of the zones.

The flat is arranged around a large area consisting of a kitchen, dining room and living room. All potential hallways are removed from the proposal and the wardrobe is used to create possible divisions.

To enhance the flat’s light and spaciousness, pale colours are proposed which, along with wood, give it a touch of warmth. The soft chromatic palette and the visual simplicity given by the decoration finish off a space which provides oxygen, a sense of calm and serenity.

The building, designed by LPR Arquitectes, is the first block of flats to be rehabilitated in Spain with the “Passivhaus” label, which has led them to win awards, such as the “Sustainable Renovation Grand Prize” awarded by the “Construction21, the Spanish platform, managed by the UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change ESCI-UPF”.
