Reform for the removal of architectural barriers in Girona. The two main challenges of the project are to improve accessibility and to provide the entrance with as much light as possible.
The proposal opts for a large oak wood opening that frames the entrance and allows natural light to penetrate into the interior. Material continuity is sought with oak panelling that communicates inside-outside, accompanied by indirect lighting below.
The aim is for no element to stand out from the rhythm of the wood, which is why the letterboxes are made to disappear and are integrated into this panelling.
In a very subtle way and following this verticality, green is introduced with tensors. The combination of these elements gives presence and elegance to the entrance.
The project has been carried out in collaboration with Marc Riera.
